The fourth annual Wine Garden of England Summer Celebration will be held by the lake at Chilham Castle, not far from Canterbury. You'll be able to meet the producers and taste the wines from Balfour, Biddenden, Chapel Down, Domaine Evremond, Gusbourne, Simpsons, Squerryes, Westwell and Yotes Court.
Chilham Castle is a 17th Century private residence set amongst stunning grounds with a vineyard, within walking distance from Chilham railway station. Ticket holders will be given a Wine Garden of England tasting glass and tote bag, together with a book of tasting vouchers. Each voucher gets you a tasting from one producer, so that you can make your way around all of them, sampling the diversity of the group.
Each producer has a marquee around the lake. Tastings are available from 12pm - 6pm. After this time, guests are asked to move to the central field where they can enjoy the rest of the evening, until 9pm. The central field is where there will be a wide choice of food producers, a shop and a bar with covered seating. Throughout the day will be Q&A sessions with the producers and a live band towards the evening.
More information will be added as plans develop, and ticket holders will be emailed with updates regularly.
