We are proud to be the only English wine estate to have won a gold medal for six consecutive vintages in the World Championships of Champagne and Sparkling Wine. Having been crowned National Champion in 2021, a unique achievement for an English wine brand, we're equally thrilled to receive a Gold Medal and Best in Class at this year's awards in 2023 for our 2014 Brut in Magnum. This sits proudly alongside the 'Best English Sparkling Wine' Trophy in the International Wine Challenge and 'Best in Show' in the 2021 Decanter World Wine Awards, recognising Squerryes in the top 50 wines in the world.
This is testament to the quality of our fruit grown on the North Downs and the dedication shown by our winemaking team to create the very finest English sparkling wine. In the spirit of Squerryes Estate’s “Licet Esse Beatis” – we hope that they give you pleasure.
Our signature blend and a real 'crowd pleaser', this wine is made from fruit handpicked from our vineyard, high on the North Downs. At 150 metres above sea level and 1 degree Celsius cooler than other vineyards in the south-east we enjoy long cool summers, as a result the fruit is well balanced with a natural sweetness and acidity.
The 2020 vintage perfectly reflects the purity and energy of our terroir, made using the 'traditional method', with 3 years ageing on the lees.

The multi-layered palate shows rich peaches and cream with toasted nuts, touches of brioche and a citrus pith cutting through to an exceptionally long finish.Elegant and fine, this wine should have a long life ahead of it.”

"A real richness to this wine from the extended lees ageing. A fresh nose with pear and a hint of honey, complemented by the distinctive smell of freshly baked white bread. On the palate, a warm almond croissant balanced by a lively acidity from our rich, creamy Chardonnay fruit, with a pure, mineral-rich finish from our unique terroir. This really is a delicious wine and worthy of its National Champion status."

According to the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships, this vintage was the 2021 National Champion in the category of best English sparkling wine.
This vintage perfectly reflects the natural energy and purity of our vineyard, the white chalk seam that sits below our vines acting as nature’s best filter, removing any impurities creating a wine that is very soft and clean with a lovely smooth finish.

Magnum - Gold - CSWWC Awards 2021. Best in Class CSWWC 2021 English brut blend and English Sparkling Wine - National Champion - English Sparkling Wine CSWWC 2021
"Pale straw in colour from the increased amount of Chardonnay with a distinct, fine mousse. Lovely orchard fruits: baked pears with a hint of spice and creaminess on the nose. On the palate it has an abundance of rich, ripe fruit complemented by a hint of brioche and a wonderful, soft mouthfeel. A concentrated full flavour wine, with not too much acidity makes it perfect to pair with a meaty white fish, like monkfish; for the cheese lover: a ripe camembert".
Described by Decanter as 'mouthwateringly moreish',once again this vintage has won a a gold medal and 'Best in Class' for an English sparkling wine in magnum in the 2023 World Championships of Champagne and Sparkling Wine. This is the second time this vintage has won, having previously won the same in 2020.
Aged on the lees for 60 months the extended contact with the lees has created a stunning wine that is worthy of the praise and acclaim it continues to receive.

"Pale straw in colour with a lovely fine mousse, this wine reflects the raw energy of our terroir. On the nose it is beautifully fresh and clean, with crisp green apple followed by underlying notes of summer meadows with freshly baked bread.
On the palate, a wonderful freshness with an initial impact of white peach and pink grapefruit. This is followed by a rich intensity of orchard fruits and a long clean ripe fruit finish. This wine is really crisp and fresh, so perfect as an aperitif, served with shellfish or a bowl of salted almonds."
‘Licet Esse Beatis’, our family motto, means ‘permitted to be joyful’ and we say that we are in the business of creating joy. Our vintage Rosé is the very best translation of that. Delicate pink in colour with a concentrated strawberry and redcurrant nose from the Pinot Noir grapes in the blend. The 2020 summer gave us creamy red fruit on the palate but still with refreshing English acidity which will have you reaching for another glass. Made with 25% Pinot Meunier and 75% Pinot Noir fruit, this vintage is made by the ‘classic method’, using fruit handpicked in 2020 from our vineyard high on the North Downs.

In the words of the estate owner, Henry Warde our Blanc de Blancs is: “the finest wine to leave the estate”. It is made using the ‘classic method’, two fermentations, the second in the bottle taking the finest Chardonnay handpicked in 2017 from our vineyard high on the North Downs.
We firmly believe that to make a fine wine you need time. With 69 months of lees ageing, this is the finest expression of our winemaking and terroir.

"This beautiful wine is very pale straw in colour with a fine mousse from 6 years lees ageing. It has a complex nose with very many nuances: freshly baked pastries married with pink grapefruit and apple strudel. There is a wonderful concentration of creamy fruit on the palate; yeasty, bready notes giving way to the signature long and smooth Squerryes finish.
The acidity works well with dishes prepared with a creamy sauce or freshly shucked, meaty, creamy oysters, such as a Colchester or Fal."
We only use grapes from our very own vineyard. We always have and we always will. We’re extremely proud of the flavour and aroma that are attributed to the terroir, it’s something we know we are very fortunate to have.
So lucky in fact, that other people have been very interested in our land. Back in 2004, a Champagne House visited Squerryes to try and buy some of it. A geological survey had confirmed that our chalk escarpment had qualities similar to the esteemed “Cote des Blancs” region of Champagne. Along with the soils, the long moderate summers and cool evenings provide the perfect growing conditions for the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier vines.
Here at Squerryes we use the ‘Great British Classic Method’ of winemaking - the same complex bottle fermentation process that is used in the Champagne region. By using only Estate grown grapes and traditional sparkling wine-making methods, our wines show an authentic expression of English sparkling wine, and the greatest expression of English Terroir.
Without doubt, our Squerryes does have similarities to that produced in the Champagne region. However, take a minute, and you start to notice the differences: the balance of fruit and yeasty characteristics on the nose; the complexity and depth on the palate; and the long straight finish all combine to give a distinct flavour that is very much unique to Squerryes.
